Clipart Birthday Invitation Maker
Got a folder of cartoon clipart PNGs and a party to plan? This clipart birthday invitation maker arranges your characters into one overlapping group on a portrait card, adds the party details, and gives you a print-ready file. No design software, no sign-up, nothing to install.
What the clipart birthday invitation maker does
Most invitation templates make you drop artwork into fixed boxes. This one does the arranging for you. Upload transparent PNGs and it packs them into a group photo layout: the hero character front and centre at full size, supporting characters filling in behind and to the sides, outer ones running off the edges of the card the way a poster does.
- Up to 20 characters on one card
- Transparent edges trimmed automatically, so nothing sits in a box of empty space
- A visibility floor keeps every character at least 60% un-covered, so no one disappears behind a neighbour
- Sticker outlines, drop shadows and back-row fading for depth
- Sunburst, confetti, streamers, bunting and a giant age number, each one optional
- Everything runs in your browser - your artwork is never uploaded anywhere
How to make a cartoon birthday invitation
- Add your PNGs. Drag in up to 20 transparent clipart files. The first one becomes the hero: biggest, front row, dead centre. Reorder them any time.
- Pick the arrangement. Packed fills the card edge to edge, inverted triangle gives a tidier pyramid, arch sweeps them over the top. Adjust overlap, character size and how far the group runs off the sides.
- Type the party details. Name, age, date, time, venue and RSVP. The name is set in a comic style with a keyline and a metallic fill, and can be curved along an arc.
- Download and print. Choose 5 x 7 in, A5, A6, 4 x 6 in or square, then export at 300 dpi as PNG or JPG.
Which clipart works best
Anything with a transparent background and a clean cut-out edge. Character sets built for party printables work especially well, because the poses are already upright and full-body. If you need artwork to start with, every set in the shop ships as high-resolution transparent PNGs:

Print sizes and file specs
- 5 x 7 in at 300 dpi - 1500 x 2100 px. The standard invitation size, fits most envelopes.
- A5 - 148 x 210 mm. Common for UK and European print shops.
- A6 - 105 x 148 mm. Postcard size, cheapest to post.
- 4 x 6 in - the same size as a standard photo print, so any photo lab can run it.
- 5 x 5 in square - needs a square envelope.
Wording sits inside a safe margin, so trimming at the print shop will not cut into the text. Export PNG for the best quality, or JPG for a smaller file when you are emailing it.
Frequently asked questions
Is the clipart birthday invitation maker free?
Yes. The tool is free to use and there is no sign-up. You bring your own clipart PNGs.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs entirely in your web browser. Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all work, on desktop or tablet.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens locally in your browser. Your PNGs never leave your device.
How many characters can I put on one invitation?
Up to 20. Beyond about 16 the group gets dense, so two or three rows of eight to twelve usually reads best on a 5 x 7 card.
What resolution should I use for printing?
300 dpi for anything going to a print shop or photo lab. 150 dpi is fine for a home printer or for sending the invitation by email or WhatsApp.
Can I use it for something other than birthdays?
Yes. Change the wording and the same layout works for christenings, class parties, baby showers or a themed movie night.
Can I sell the invitations I make?
That depends on the licence attached to the clipart you use. Check the terms of whichever set you bought before selling finished designs.
